Testing Services

The following procedures outline the testing and discard criteria for all equipment that comes onto the premises.

IED Lifting Centre Ltd's code of practice requires that a rigorous visual inspection is carried out prior to proof loading, and that all equipment is tested according to relevant National and International safety standards. Where no such standard exists, the manufacturer's requirements are followed. If the testing requirements of a standard are different to those required by The New Zealand Rigging Code of Practice, then the requirements of the code are used.

A visual inspection can be carried out at your premises by our staff, or alternatively, by someone on your site who is familiar with rigging. For proof loading the gear needs to be transported to our premises where we have a 50 tonne (500kn) Tensile Testing Machine. We can supply concrete weights and in certain instances we work in conjunction with SGS/M & I. (Fall Arrest Blocks are serviced in Auckland (Turnaround is approximately three days)).

If any repairs are needed, they will be carried out at inspection time, and the damaged or worn items can either be disposed of here or returned to you for disposal.
